Measurement Technician (Red Deer, Contract)

This is a term contract role and will require availability as work is scheduled. This position has the possibility of becoming permanent.

Position Summary:

The Measurement Technician will be responsible for measurement and instrument services on various projects. The technician will complete the repair and calibration of various measurement devices as per the manufacturer’s recommended procedures while upholding the fundamental concepts of King’s Energy Services Ltd. Quality Management System. This position requires a hands on comprehensive experience specific to meter proving and device calibrations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Take direction and fulfil responsibilities from the designated Manager
• Troubleshoot various equipment and systems
• Perform preventative maintenance on instrumentation (calibration, replacement and tests as required); maintain field instrument records and standards in conjunction with company requirements as well as Provincial, and Federal legislation
• Review and apply a continuous improvement mindset to safe work practices, procedures and standards to ensure safe and reliable work execution
• Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems (using pneumatic, electrical/electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments) to diagnose faults
• Repair and adjust system components (sensors, transmitters, programmable logic controllers, etc.); remove, repair and/or replace defective parts
• Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturers’ specifications
• Using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing instruments
• Familiarity with construction codes and installation practices
• Initiate Nonconformance reports where inventoried, purchased, manufactured, serviced product or services do not meet Purchase Order, Contract, Work Order requirements, and Manufacturer specifications
• Compliance to specifications, jurisdictional requirements, contracts

Skills Training and Competencies:

Compliance and understanding of applicable code, laws and registered documentation
• Customer and product support specific to client and field applications
• Strong knowledge of the Industrial, Commercial and Oil & Gas Industries.
• Ability to pay careful attention to details
• Capability to provide explanations on work activities to onsite customer inquiries

• Good mathematical, scientific and mechanical and logical reasoning abilities
• Confidentiality, including design and development as well as company sensitive information
• Ability to work safely and autonomously and provide direction to other technicians

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements:

Minimum 4 years related experience in an industrial, commercial or Oil & Gas setting
